Last week was the red-carpet premiere of Deadfall in Los Angeles. The star-studded event was full of Hollywood A-listers including Deadfall’s own Eric Bana and his co-star Olivia Wilde. Wilde looked perfectly put together in a knit sequined ensemble and even despite the rainy weather, her tresses were super sleek and perfectly in place. Curious to know her secrets (so we can sport straight strands at our next holiday party), we spoke to David Babaii, the hairstylist behind Olivia’s look.
“The right products and straightening techniques make it easy to have your client keep that just out of the salon look”, says Babaii. He suggests a serum (like IT&LY HAIRFASHION’s Pure Water Drops) to tame frizz and give hair that red carpet shine.
To achieve Wilde’s straight stands, Babaii used a IT&LY Italian Racing Red 2″ Digital Iron to achieve maximum smoothness after blow-drying with a large round brush until completely dry and straight. He suggests taking small thin sections and spraying with IT&LY’s Pure Texture and combing prior to running the iron through the hair. This not only maintains a long-lasting finish but helps to retard moisture and humidity. To finish, he created a side part for just enough intrigue, setting the look into place with IT&LY’s Pure Definition Hair Spray.
