You curl your lashes in the morning and apply mascara. Then by midday, your lashes are limp and flat. Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Luckily, there are foolproof ways to get your lashes to stay curled and full, all day long.
One trick: Quickly heat up your curler with a blast of heat from a blow dryer, just be sure the metal isn’t too hot before using it on your eyes. When you curl, “Just use light pressure because you want to enhance the bend and curl the lash back. Pressing down too tight will force the lashes to stick together and crimp straight rather than curl,” says Sarah Lucero, celebrity makeup artist and director of education for Stila Cosmetics she adds. Also, make sure you use a quality eyelash curler-one that has silicone pads and the ability to really sculpt and curl the lashes. To prevent your lashes from falling, she says to stick with lightweight and waterproof formulas, which help hold the curl. “The trick is to use something cream-based so that you can add an extra layer without any clumping,” says Lucero. Creamier formulas allow for the wand to be wiggled back and forth so that you can build length and volume.
