With noninvansive procedures like Botox and dermal fillers becoming more popular with women and men looking to enhance their appearance, the question then becomes: How long will these results last?”

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery recently outlined the time span of the most common cosmetic procedures. Superficial chemical peels, where mild acids like glycolic are used to treat fine wrinkles and acne scars, are temporary and need follow-up visits to maintain results. The shelf life of dermal fillers depends on which one is used and where it’s injected. Results from collagen fillers, which are normally used on the lips and forehead, can last between three to four months. Hyaluronic acid fillers, commonly used to restore skin’s natural moisture, results last from six to twelve months. When looking for more permanent solutions, look to laser hair treatments, where 90 percent of patients treatments saw a reduction or complete removal of unwanted hair.
