The Latest Wrinkle-Reducing Laser Heads Home

Looking to zap those lines around your eyes? You'll soon have the option of wielding your very own laser now that the FDA has approved a new at-home device by Palomar Medical Technologies.

Palomar and its partner, Johnson & Johnson, have kept the details of their new gadget rather under-wraps, refusing to provide the press with photos or even a name. What they are saying, however, is that this lightweight laser can effectively reduce eye-area wrinkles, smoothing crow's-feet for a more youthful look.

The approval announcement has been met with some skepticism. While its price, expected to be several hundreds of dollars, is affordable compared to in-office laser procedures, many in the medical community doubt its results will be comparable. Additionally, some are concerned about the prospect of inexperienced hands and the risk of eye injury. However, experts say it probably wouldn't have been approved if injury was likely.

We'll be sure to let you know more about this new device as info becomes available. Until then, let us know what you think: would you be willing to try an at-home laser? Tell us by leaving a comment below!
