Nip Cellulite in the Butt
By NewBeauty Editors |
Everyone wants their butt to look its absolute best. Women today are more concerned with the shape, size and positioning of their backside than ever before. Long gone are the days of resorting just to exercise and diet alone to get a better butt—if you’re not satisfied with the way your butt looks, there are other solutions that can help define your derriere and achieve the perfect silhouette.
Junk food may go straight to your hips, but if you’re looking to boost your bottom, there’s a healthier option. “Protein is key for slimming down and firming up your butt and the cleaner the food source is, the easier it is for your body to use,” says celebrity nutritionist Cynthia Pasquella. A smaller midsection can also help emphasize your bum, so focus on slimming down if you want to enhance your backside. To keep your tummy flat, choose healthy fats like hemp- and coconutoil, which Pasquella says burn fat. “You can’t spot-treat fat. A great way to boost weight loss is to flush out toxins, which can lead to cellulite and a bumpy butt.”
In the gym, target your butt with a combination of cardio and weight-training exercises. Working out on a regular basis can help create definition. Stick to moves that target the gluteal muscles like lunges, squats and leg lifts.
When a proper diet and amping up the intensity of your workouts isn’t helping, Cellulaze may do the trick. Technically considered surgery, the minimally invasive treatment makes use of a laser and claims to reduce cellulite in one session by delivering energy to heat up and cut the fibrous bands beneath the skin (which are responsible for the dimpling of cellulite) via tiny incisions. “Cellulaze attacks the structural issues under the skin that cause cellulite, offering a solution that really works on the buttocks,” says Indianapolis plastic surgeon Janet Turkle, MD. Besides severing the bands, Cellulaze also works to create new collagen via heat to further smooth the targeted area. According to Dr. Turkle, you can expect some immediate improvement with results continuing to improve for three to 12 months after treatment, although long-term results are still pending.
