Big Butts Are On The Rise

It's official—big butts are in and they're here to stay. And it's no surprise since we’ve been admiring the rear ends of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jessica Biel for years now. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), U.S. residents spent more than $26 million on butt augmentations in 2011. That’s a 40 percent increase from the year before.
So, why do so many women desire a larger derriere? To attract the opposite sex, of course! Researchers from the University of Texas say that men are actually addicted to women with hourglass figures. Head scans performed on men who looked at images of big butts showed activity in the part of their brains associated with reward.
To create a bigger backside, there are two different methods. For those with some extra pounds to spare, fat can be removed from where you don’t want it and injected it into your chassis. If you're on the leaner side, silicone implants can be inserted into your cheeks. Costs can range from about $6,500 to $8,500. If you decide to get plastic surgery, make sure to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon and undergo your procedure in an accredited facility.
There are also nonsurgical ways to fill out your jeans. For instance, personal trainers can give advise on exercises to boost your backside. Or, if you want a quick fix, you can wear padded jeans or silicone panties, which are designed to push up the butt the same way a padded bra pushes up the breasts.
