Curious Causes Of Cellulite
By NewBeauty Staff |
Cellulite is a very common condition, affecting nearly 90% of women, many of whom are genetically predisposed to the lumpy look. But did you know there are other factors that could contribute to cellulite?
Refined carbohydrates and salty, oily and fried foods can play a part in the onset of cellulite and even aggravate pre-existing cellulite since they cause the body to naturally gain fat.
We all know that smoking is bad for your health and can accelerate the aging process, but cigarette smoke's free radicals can contribute to cellulite by breaking down healthy veins and capillary walls. Plus, nicotine constricts the blood vessels and prevents toxins from being properly eliminated through the lymphatic system.
Additionally, underwear and pants that are too tight around the thighs can limit blood flow to the area, possibly causing cellulite to occur. Your best bet is to wear underwear that fits snug but doesn't cut into you or leave an indentation in your legs, stomach or buttocks when it's removed.
