Three New Ways To Get Whiter Teeth

Whether you do it with your dentist's help, with an at-home system or during your daily tooth-brushing ritual, there are new ways to get a whiter, brighter smile thanks to products that recently hit the market. Here's a round-up of three new options we found:

From your dentist: The makers of the Venus White whitening system that's available through many dentist offices have launched a new version, Venus White Ultra, with pre-filled, disposable whitening trays. Heraeus Kulzer, LLC, the firm that makes Venus White, says the gel has been improved and the trays are better-fitting. Users wear the pre-filled trays that they get from their dentist once a day for up to seven days, and should see results in just three days with little or no time in the dentist's chair.

Do it yourself: Bling Dental Products is the company that brought us Icing Teeth Whitening and Shazzam Whitening Strips and has recently released a new product, Bling JagerWhite Gel ($219). This new formula of 30 percent carbamide peroxide blended with potassium nitrate is colored blue to help the user see exactly where the product is applied. The kit also includes an activator light, which may or may not be needed for the 60- to 90-minute treatment that the company assures is safe for sensitive teeth.

Brush it on: Toothpaste powerhouse Crest introduced Crest 3D White Glamorous White Toothpaste at New York Fashion Week in February as the latest addition to its 3D White collection. The new toothpaste is set to hit the market for the masses this month. The company says the new toothpaste brightens teeth after an hour, removing 90 percent of surface stains, with full results at 15 days. It'll be sold along with other Crest 3D White products at stores like Target and online at Amazon.com.
