Cellulite Treatment Gets Fda Clearance
By NewBeauty Staff |
There's another weapon in the fight against cellulite: Cellulaze, a noninvasive treatment that claims to reduce the appearance of cellulite-ridden skin, received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on January 30.
The device, developed by Cynosure Inc., has been available in Europe and Canada, and is now cleared for commercial distribution in the U.S. Cynosure says the device works by placing a special laser below the skin's surface to melt fat cells. Then, the fibers that pull the skin into cellulite's telltale dimples are released so the skin appears more smooth. Finally, Cynosure says, the laser will help promote collagen production, which further thickens and smooths the skin.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and requires just one treatment. The results are said to continue to improve over several months.
So now that Cellulaze is available in the States, are you going to give it a try?
