More Brides Turning To Pre-Wedding Procedures
By NewBeauty Staff |
There's a lot of planning that goes into a wedding: booking the reception hall, ordering invitations, picking a florist and trying on lots of dresses. These days, many brides are adding another item to their to-do lists: getting cosmetic enhancements before their big day.
The trend has even been given a cheeky name: bridalplasty. In fact, you may even recall an E! Entertainment Television show of the same name, during which brides competed by getting nose jobs, liposuction and the like to win a dream wedding.
Many of today's brides are factoring in these treatments into their wedding budgets, allowing themselves as much as $20,000 for their procedures, reports Good Morning America. Newport Beach, CA, plastic surgeon Tenley Lawton, MD, told GMA that she sees as many as five brides-to-be each month for procedures that range from Botox injections to surgery.
With the importance of their "special day" in the balance, Dr. Lawton told GMA, "It's a whole lot of money...We want to make sure the patient is doing this for the right reasons. They're doing this for themselves, not just their fiancés or any other motive."
Of course, many procedures require many weeks or even a few months to recover from, so planning cosmetic enhancements before a wedding or other major event should be done well in advance.
