'RHONY' Star Sonja Morgan Dishes on the In-Office Treatment She Swears By to Keep Her Skin Youthful

The Real Housewives of New York City's Sonja Morgan, 53, is no stranger to trying the latest skin care treatments and products to make her complexion look more youthful—that is, when she's not caught in the middle of a dramatic showdown with her fellow costars. We caught up with the reality TV star this week to hear about her latest in-office treatment, the Cutera PICO Genesis laser, which helps keep her skin in tip-top shape.

"PICO Genesis not only gives us a new way to treat common pigmentary concerns, but I’ve also been particularly impressed with the results I’m seeing with more challenging cases such as lighter brown spots,” says New York dermatologist Neil Sadick, MD, who performed the treatment on Morgan. “In addition to the skin tone improvements, its visibly clear that there is also something special happening to the overall skin quality—the skin looks brighter and more youthful even following one treatment. PICO Genesis is a game changer for me, especially when treating my darker-skinned patients.”

On her skin concerns...
"I like to maintain an even skin tone, and I primarily use lasers to treat redness," Morgan says. "I use the deeper lasers to tighten my skin and the more surface-level lasers for uneven pigment and brown spots, and to build collagen."

On what the treatment feels like...
"It feels a little bit like static cling," she explains. "Like tiny little zapping sensations. Annoying, but not painful like in the old days. The technology has come so far. For example, this machine is good for all skin colors, and it's safe." [Some lasers only work on lighter skin tones—if used on darker skin, they can potentially cause trauma to the skin and result in post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.]

On maintaining her results...
"Dr. Sadick would like me to come back every few weeks, but I never have the time," says Morgan. "I am very busy developing my businesses and filming the show. I also have a 16-year-old daughter who is my first priority. I take her for laser hair removal and she gets facials, too. She has a very natural look and has also visited Sadick Dermatology. We've had had facial together with Luz." As far as skin care products go, Morgan's favorite brands include SkinCeuticals, Perricone MD and Caudalie. "I use antioxidants, vitamin C and resveratrol," she adds.

On her beauty mantra...
"True beauty comes from happiness inside. You need to be content with yourself. For me to sleep well, I need to tap into my creativity. I do that through my fashion, gardening, acting, charity efforts and events. And of course, just good solid meaningful time and travel with my number one, my daughter. Nothing beats good food, new cultures and traveling with loved ones."

She DEFINITELY had work done. She looks like she had fillers and Botox... lasers don't do what she's purporting. She needs to 'fess up, like Tamra. You can tell Sonja had work because her face is too full and taut, as opposed to 5 years ago. Plus, in the top pic her wrinkles are all relegated to the very top of her forehead--tell-tale Botox to forehead, displacing the original wrinkles, pushing them upwards. In other words, she tried to get rid of them, but she didn't; she just moved them.
