Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, has been in the media a lot in recent years, but it’s back in the headlines again. This time the hormone is being touted as the “it” anti-aging remedy among Hollywood’s elite. While it’s still pretty hush hush about exactly which of our favorite A-listers are believers (Suzanne Somers is the only celeb of note), there’s no denying that HGH has many fans.

Growth hormone triggers the growth of bone and body tissues and is extremely important to ensure the normal growth of children. Unfortunately, as we age, our natural levels of this hormone decrease. That’s why many believe that replenishing the body with a synthetic version could have life-changing results. That’s where HGH comes in.

So what’s the reason behind all the buzz? Well, consumers of this hormone look at it as the fountain of youth-it claims to make them look younger, and feel stronger and more energized when they’re injected with it.

And while it all sounds pretty good, think again. There’s no real evidence that HGH can help adults regain their youth and it could compromise your health too. Many drug companies warn users about serious risks including cancer, carpal tunnel syndrome, and liver damage. Plus, it could require numerous injections of the hormone several times a week to see any real results. Which leads most to believe it’s just not worth it.
