Not only are metallic eyeshadows one of the season’s hottest beauty trends, its also the perfect way to take your holiday look to the next level. Makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan shows us an easy way to create the metallic smokey eye look for our next holiday party.
Deenihan started with the Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow Stick in Black Stream ($34), smudging it onto the top lids directly at the lash line and blending it upward toward the crease with a small fluffy brush. This creates a wash of black metallic crème shadow.

Step 2
The next step is to add the next metallic shadow on top of the existing shadow. She took the NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Himalia ($29) and used a blending brush swipe the shadow over the entire lid, crease and slightly on the brow bone. Layering these two shades together creates a dimensional asphalt color metallic smokey eye.

To intensify the look, Deenihan applied the Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow Stick underneath the bottom lash line, blending it outward toward the outer corners of the eye. She used Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir ($32) to line the top and bottom lash lines for definition. She also added a bit of the NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow to the inner corners of the eyes to help them appear larger even when wearing the dark eye makeup.
