I absolutely LOVE going to my local day spa for aromatherapy massages. Before my fifty minutes of bliss, my masseuse always asks me if there’s anything in particular that I want to address. Since my appointments are typically at the end of my work week, my complaints are usually along the lines of – just the usual – anxiety, stress, tension, and exhaustion.
The time between appointments seem like forever and frankly, it never occurred to me that I could reap the benefits of these oils without an official massage appointment.
On one of my trips to the mall, I stopped in at The Body Shop to pick up a gift for my sister. As I was walking towards the register, my nose picked up a familiar scent. I turned around and saw an entire display of Aromatherapy Essential Oils (price range – $12-$16 per bottle). I quickly picked up one of the tiny brown boxes – surely this must be some sort of imitation scent-it can’t possibly be the real thing! The box was labeled Pure Essential Aromatherapy Oils.
I squealed in delight when I found that the scents of Bergamot, Lemon, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Eucalyptus, and Chamomile were the real thing. As I unscrewed each lid, my nose immediately recognized each delightful smell. I stood there, torn over which one to buy. It was then that I decided I had a need for all of them. No regrets though. After reading up on Aromatherapy Oils, I discovered that I could mix some of my favorite scents together (along with Almond Oil) and use them in my bath water and with my unscented lotions It’s not exactly the same as my wonderful Aromatherapy Massages however, I really do enjoy the fact that I don’t necessarily have to wait until my next appointment – I’ve got a slice of heaven in a little brown bottle at home.
