We are all on a never-ending quest to stop aging in its tracks. Perhaps that’s why more women are starting their anti-aging efforts earlier than ever before—in their 20s and 30s. In response to this desire to look younger, it seems like new anti-aging treatments, such as fillers and neurotoxins, are popping up every day. One of the most recent fillers to come on to the scene is Belotero.
Doctors have long been excited for the launch of the “first approved ‘true line filler’ [that] will instantly diminish wrinkles,” says Fort Lauderdale, FL, dermatologist Dr. Shino Bay Aguilera.
Belotero is also a more versatile option because of the way that the molecules are cross-linked. “It can be used in superficial wrinkles without giving the bluish hue that is so noticeable with the rest of the hyaluronic acid fillers,” says Coral Gables, FL, dermatologist Janelle Vega, MD. “It can also be used to plump up folds like [other fillers].”
With all the hype about Belotero aside, there’s still the fact that it hasn’t been on the market for very long. That means that there’s less information available about long-term results and side effects than there is for other fillers. That’s why we want to know, have you tried Belotero? What did you think?
