The biggest night in Hollywood also has the biggest after party! And some of our favorite celebs were out to celebrate, including the iconic Hailey Bieber. The jury’s still out on what Rhode products she was rocking at the 2025 Oscars Vanity Fair After Party, but we had to know the secret behind those perfectly sleek Hollywood waves. And celebrity hairstylist Bryce Scarlett gave us the inside scoop.
“I was inspired by Hailey’s very feminine gown and wanted to balance that with sleek modern hair,” Scarlett explains. “To get the look, I started off of the wet hair and applied mousse to the roots to ends. Then, I blow-dried with Laifen’s Swift Special blow-dryer ($150) starting at the nape with a large round brush to create volume.”
Laifen uses negative ions to reduce frizz and enhance shine for a smooth, naturally volumizing look without heat damage. The Swift Special version has three nozzles for diffusing, smoothing and concentrating, allowing Scarlett to get a quick, ultra-sleek dry on Bieber in time to hit the Vanity Fair red carpet.
“Once dry, I took 2-inch sections and began curling with an inch-and-a-half barrel to make my waves,” Scarlett says. “Curling hair towards the face and dragging down a bit before releasing for a more relaxed wave. I finished with a hair oil at the ends and a medium hold hairspray throughout the hair.”
