We love a good rumor as much as the next girl, especially when it has to do with our favorite topic—makeup. So what’s the big news that has the beauty blogosphere buzzing with excitement? Iconic Italian fashion house Gucci is reportedly set to debut its first color cosmetics collection in 2014.
The good news for you is that this “rumor” is actually pretty well verified, but Gucci has declined to comment. Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) says that according to market sources, the brand, which has been creating blockbuster fragrances under the Procter & Gamble umbrella since 2006, will likely roll out cosmetics like lipsticks, blushes and color compacts under the prestige arm of P&G.
Pat McGrath, who does the runway makeup for Gucci’s shows around the world also happens to be P&G’s global creative design director, so all signs point to this current fiction becoming fact.
If it does launch, we expect nothing but greatness from Gucci. With their clean, sophisticated lines and love of bold color, the launch should be anything but boring.
