Grape seed has been increasingly included in beauty products due to its anti-aging properties. But a recent University of Alabama study has shown an even greater possible benefit: skin cancer defense.
It appears that grape seed proanthocyanudins, or GSPs, as a diet supplement, may impede the effects of UV light on the immune system. This may be partially due to the presence of antioxidants.
Considering there are over a million new cases of skin cancer in the U.S. every year, the Birmingham-based research team feels that further GSP study on humans is highly justified. And from what we can tell, it would be potentially life-changing, too.
