Hack 1: Plump Your Lips With Foundation

A thin layer of foundation over your lips will do wonders to fill in fine lines and wrinkles around the lip line and act as a neutral base for the best color read possible.

Hack 2: Use Concealer in a Unique Way

Apply concealer to the outer corner of your eye. This area is prone to redness, which can draw the shape down, so by neutralizing the discoloration, you can reshape your eye and create a lifting effect.

Hack 3: Don’t Just Keep Lip Liner for Lining

Use your lip liner to fill in the entire area of your lip, creating a matte base for lip color to grab to ensure longer wear.

Hack 4: Simplify the Smoky Eye

A smoky eye can be as simple as an eyeliner and a smudge brush. When in a pinch, line your upper lashes and slowly blend it out over your lid with the brush, creating a smoky effect.

Dot your upper lash line with long-wear black liner—it instantly adds definition and creates the illusion of fuller lashes.

Hack 6: Change Your Brow Brushing Routine

Brush your brows down before filling them in with color. That way when you brush them up afterward, the lines are hidden by your natural hair.

Hack 7: Only Use Bronzer to Contour

Contour is achieved by using a deeper shade than your skin tone, so your bronzer could do double-duty as a bronzing powder as long as there is no shimmer in it.

Hack 8: Step Up Your Steam Game

This is more in the skin care category, but it will make your makeup go on better. An at-home steam can do wonders, cleaning out your pores and revitalizing dull, dry skin. All you need is a pot, hot water and a towel to trap the steam for your own mini-facial.

Hack 9: Trust Taupe Shades

If you want more definition under your eye, but don’t want the “liner look,” use a light taupe eye shadow applied with a small shadow brush for a softer, “halo” effect.
