Looking for a celeb worthy updo for the holidays? Hair stylist Giannandrea shows us how to recreate Karlie Kloss’s elegant and modern updo from the People Magazine Awards in four simple steps.
1. Beginning with wet hair, Giannandrea applied Macadamia Professional Foaming Volumizer ($25) to the whole head and blow dried with a large round brush to create volume on top.
2. Next he used a one-inch curling iron and curled the hair in soft waves.He applied a quarter sized amount of Macadamia Professional Whipped Detailing Cream ($26) and ran it through the head backwards with his hands to create depth and separation.
3. Using small pins, he twisted the hair and set it into place, pinning it back. Giannandrea braided the back into a low bun and twisted it into the rest of the hair, creating a romantic shape. He allowed the flyaways to remain, creating a soft and ethereal look.
4. Giannandrea finished with Macadamia Professional Control Working Spray ($23).
