Spring has officially sprung. That means that it’s time to pull those sexy bikinis out of retirement. While a tropical vacation or even lounging at the pool sounds like heaven after a long, cold winter, our bodies may not be quite ready for their big debut. But don’t worry, we have some tips to help you put your best bikini body forward in no time.

Getting that svelte body you crave involves both amping up your exercise routine and changing your eating habits. Focus on cardio workouts like high impact interval training such as Metcon3 at Equinox. You’ll also need to do exercises that target your core and butt. If you’re not a huge fan of intense cardio workouts, classes like Physique 57 promise you results in just eight classes minus all of the huffing and puffing, but not without the burn. 

Remember commitment is key to get the results you want. “Commit to at least 45 to 60 minutes of training for at least five days a week,” says celebrity trainer Alicia Strom. Don’t allow yourself any excuses to skip a workout—that means “not having a gym membership” isn’t going to cut it. “You can do many exercises with no equipment at all.”

To see the results you want, your diet needs to change. Incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet and drink plenty of water, says Strom. “By upping your exercise routine and cleaning up your diet, you could see results within two to three weeks.”

Right before you put that bikini on, you’ll want to de-bloat your body as much as possible. Go for these bloat-fighting foods. And if you need an extra boost of confidence, you can always get a fake tan. Somehow sun-kissed skin can magically make you look slimmer and fool everyone into thinking you spent winter in a tropical location. 

While all of these tips may not sound very fun, the end result of feeling confident in your sexiest bikini is completely worth it. These celebrities’ bikini bodies are proof that hard work can really pay off.
