Now that I’ve gotten myself on a regular-yet-intense workout routine, I decided that my gear was just as important as the actual exercise itself. So out went the old Soffe shorts and in came the yoga pants. But pair after pair, I kept running into the same problem: not only would the pants ride up throughout the entire workout, they would also leave my skin red, irritated and itchy.
I had read about So Low, a favorite of celebs with to-die-for bodies like Cameron Diaz, in just about every fashion magazine. Right off the bat, I decided that they were definitely cute enough to wear to the gym, but would they stand up to my test?
During my first 60-minute training session, I didn’t once have to pull at the waistband or legs to get my pants to sit comfortably. And, the 90/10 American-grown cotton jersey pants with spandex left my sensitive skin free of irritation and those pesky indentation marks.
See, many fold-over and yoga pants are made so tight and run so small that the product must stretch onto your body to stay in place, and since the fit is not true to form, they can cut into your skin and cause redness and chaffing. But So Low’s pants complement the natural curves of a woman’s body to hug it-not smother it-in all the right places. Add body-forgiving fabric and you’ve got a great pair of pants that fit well and comfortably.
And theyre great to wear during pregnancy because the fold over waistband fits under ever-growing bellies. Plus, the spandex/jersey blend allows the pants to maintain their shape so you can even wear them post-baby.
I love that the line also comes with really cute waistline details like ruffles and sailor pants buttons, which serve double duty and detract from any overhang that may be lurking around. And all the compliments that I got weren’t too shabby either!
