Plastic surgery procedures for men are on the rise. (Don’t worry ladies, you still claim 87 percent of all surgical and noninvasive procedures in the U.S.) However, the type of procedures preferred by men differ from those preferred by women. When it comes to plastic surgery with men, less is more. Male cosmetic procedures are up 2 percent from last year, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. And the most popular procedures often involve surgeries that remove flaws rather than enhance features.
Statistically speaking, men favor surgeries such as facelifts, rhinoplasties and liposuction, which remove skin laxity, bumps and fat as opposed to the most popular enhancements favored by women such as breast augmentations and facial fillers that add curves and contours. When you break it down, it basically means that men want undetectable results that don’t flaunt change. Is that trend likely to stay the same or are men just not as comfortable with plastic surgery as women? Only time will tell. To our male readers: Which cosmetic procedures would you consider having done?
