All the American Idol fans out there know that there are very few reasons not to love judge and Aerosmith front man, Steven Tyler. But thanks to the rock star’s feather adorned strands, the fly-fishing community may not agree.

The hair feather trend has reached everyone from tots to tweens, moms and apparently grown men. With everyone jumping on the hair feather bandwagon, hairdressers are having a hard time keeping up with their clients’ demands.

So where does the controversy come in? Well, these specially grown rooster feathers-turned-fashion accessory, were once only used by fishermen as lures. Besides the angry animal right’s supporters, with the shortage of these in-demand feathers, fishermen are not at all pleased that their bait is being used as a hair embelishment. Prices for these feathers have reached an all-time high and hairdressers are frequenting tackle shops and clearing out their stock. How do you feel about this feather hair extension trend?
