The idea of visiting a spa in Beverly Hills sounds glamorous enough on it’s own. Well, practically any spa that exists in the land of the rich and famous is sure to be luxurious. And that’s exactly what I found at the Ciel Spa at the SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills.
Immediately upon entering, I was greeted by the very friendly staff who gave me a mini-tour of the spa. They instructed me to change into a robe and then wait for my aesthetician in the “relaxation room.” The room was softly lit with white curtains hanging from the walls and had several large, cozy white lounge chairs to…well, relax in.
As I sat waiting for my treatment while sipping tea and eating chocolate, I read a book about the life of Carolina Herrera and thought “this is the life.” I could have probably gone home feeling healthy and happy just from that little time spent there. But, it was nice to know my actual treatment was up next.
The aesthetician retrieved me and led me into the room where I’d get an Eve Lom facial since the spa recently partnered with the beauty company. She took me through each step of the facial and explained the holistic background of Eve Lom. Instead of using steam to open the pores-holistic practice is against the use of outside energy-she painted on a warming mask. After the mask, the rest of the facial went on just like a typical facial with exfoliation, extraction, and so on. The entire facial was just as luxurious as you would expect at such a well-designed spa, and my skin felt silky smooth afterwards.
