The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery recently announced that lipoplasty is now the most popular cosmetic procedure in the United States.
Experts credit the surge of patients seeking lipoplasty, also known as liposuction, to the rise of “Mommy Makeovers.” The total body makeover typically includes liposuction with other procedures like a breast lift, breast implants and a tummy tuck. The goal of the operation is to help women get their pre-baby bodies back.
What’s even more interesting about this report is that the average woman who undergoes these procedures is not who you’d think. It turns out that it’s middle class moms who are heading to the operating table more often than the expected Hollywood housewife type.
