For those unhappy with the flatness of their buttocks, fat grafting may be an appropriate option.
This is a surgical technique where “spare” fat is harvested from an area like the abdomen or thighs by low-vacuum liposuction and then inserted into the buttocks through tiny incisions in a way that will allow each cell to have a good blood supply. Patients must have enough extra fat available in other areas to be removed and reused in the process.
Keep in mind, the grafting procedure may have to be done more than once if the amount of fat that “takes” isn’t the desired result. Fat that successfully remains one year after surgery should remain permanently if a stable weight is maintained.
