Your ideal body is no longer just a dream. With advances in plastic surgery and noninvasive treatments, there are more ways than ever to look exactly the way you want. Here are three effective options to getting the body you’ve always wanted.
Brave the Cold to Contour
For those who can’t fathom the idea of having surgery performed on their body, there are a handful of treatments on the market that allow for good results to be obtained with nearly no risk.
“CoolSculpting is a fantastic way to remove fat with no surgery and basically no downtime,” says Atlanta plastic surgeon Carmen Kavali, MD. “It works by targeting the fat cells specifically because fat freezes at a higher temperature than surrounding tissues.” As the fat cells die, the body naturally eliminates them over the course of a few months, leaving the body slimmer than it was before. “Noninvasive fat fighters, which aren’t weight-reduction tools, work well to really reduce or eliminate specific areas of fat,” says Richmond, Virginia plastic surgeon Ruth Hillelson, MD.

Just because you have a breast augmentation, doesn’t mean you have to end up with breasts that are overly large or fake-looking.
“Two of the most common things that prevent women from proceeding with breast augmentation is the anxiety of anesthesia and picking the wrong size,” says Concord, California plastic surgeon Eric Mariotti, MD. “Women want breasts that are not too big or too small, but rather just right.”
Today, the trend is all about looking natural, but many women still think that if they opt for an augmentation, they are bound to end up with fake-looking breasts. “That’s not the case at all. With so many different sizes, shapes, projections and implant materials, you can literally custom design exactly what you want your breasts to look like, granted they match with your body frame,” explains Dr. Mariotti. If you like a certain style, or don’t like one, make sure to bring plenty of pictures in to show your plastic surgeon so that he or she understands exactly what type of look you are going for.
Tighten Up Lax Skin
Just like how you can use noninvasive treatments to better the look of your body, you can also have a skin-tightening treatment done to help fix loose skin. “It works best if skin laxity is mild to moderate. When the issues are more severe, or the expectations are more extreme, only surgery will give that type of result,” says Dr. Hillelson. Still, “there are many nonsurgical options available these days that can actually put surgery off for longer and longer,” explains Dr. Kavali.
