A great night out doesn’t always lead to a great morning. If you wake up on the wrong side of the bed after a night on the town, founder of Kate Somerville Skin Health Experts, Kate Somerville has a few tips to have you looking fresh-faced and recharged so you can face the day.
Seeing spots? If you have a zit, don’t pick, Somerville warns. Instead, “wrap an ice cube in a thin cloth or paper towel and rest it on the blemish for a few minutes. The ice will reduce the inflammation and redness,” explains Somerville.
Tired eyes? Somerville suggests placing two spoons in the freezer for about 15 minutes and using them to apply your favorite eye cream. “The cold metal will help depuff and refresh tired eyes.”
Eat and drink too much? If you overindulged the night before, the results might be visible in your complexion. “Drink plenty of water. Incorporate beverages such as pure, unsweetened cranberry juice, fresh lemon juice in water and green tea to cleanse, balance and hydrate your system,” says Somerville. Also, “load up on fresh, organic foods such as almonds, avocados, black beans, blueberries, melons, pomegranate, wild salmon, spinach, tomatoes, whole grains, sweet potatoes and yogurt. Your entire body will benefit from a better diet, a fitter figure, increased energy, improved brain function and radiant skin.”
