The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., got a major makeover last year—to the tune of a $200 million-dollar renovation. New rooms, new suites, a new ballroom, new restaurants and new bars have completely revitalized the storied spot; the super luxurious, newly opened Argentta Spa is no exception, as it’s not only gorgeous, but has quickly become a go-to destination for cutting-edge facial treatments in our nation’s capital.
Spa treatment manager Ludmila Milic says that spa guests who visit are looking for a quick fix, yet demand options that deliver long-term, anti-aging solutions. “Whether it’s a performer from the Kennedy Center or neighbor from the Watergate Residences, both men and women are concerned about aging and actively seek out new ways to keep looking younger, longer,” she explains, adding that one key differentiating factor she thinks the facials have is that they “respect the hormonal differences” between men and women, and treatments are tweaked accordingly.

Milic has also made Swiss skin care brand Cellcosmet the star line of the spa (it’s the only spa in the U.S. that exclusively performs the treatments). “Cellcosmet Cellmen treatments contain the highest concentrations of ultra-revitalizing, intensive cellular cures containing active stabilized bio-integral cells and the purest organic, natural plants and essential oils,” she says. “All of the products in the CellEctive line contain the proprietary Hyaluron Complex, which delivers an intense moisturizing and plumping action due to the mix of three hyaluronic acids of different molecular weight.”
It’s this potent HA trio that has Milic billing the facials (and corresponding at-home product protocol) as a solution that “helps prolong the effect of hyaluronic acid–based filler“—something that really appeals to the clientele. “The daily application of the products ensures immediate smoothing, plumping, volume-increasing, and a deeply moisturizing action, which helps maintain optimum levels of hydration. All of this helps make hyaluronic acid–based filler, which we know gets reabsorbed in time, last longer.”
