Bangs. When they’re good, they’re so good. But when conditions aren’t favorable for a beautiful bang they’re oh-so-badly behaved. With sizzling, sticky summer upon us, we asked celebrity hair stylist and hair thinning expert Angelo David Pisacreta of Angelo David Salon how to keep the frizz out of your fringe and better your bangs.
“Summer weather is not your friend if you wear bangs,” confirms Pisacreta. “But you don’t have to hide under a hat all season.”
He recommends dry shampooing your bangs when they start to look oily or greasy. “Having the right dry shampoo is essential,” he says. “I recommend Redken Powder Refresh 01 Aerosol Hair Powder ($30).”
To further keep bangs from soaking up moisture, use blotting sheets on your forehead. “They help stop the oil and sweat that your bangs absorb,” he says.
If your bangs are frizzing, a flat iron is Pisacreta’s fringe fix. “Manage frizz or natural curl by smoothing your bangs out with a few quick strokes,” he says.
And if those tips aren’t enough to calm your coif concerns, Pisacreta offers up the ultimate faux fix: Clip-in bangs from Angelo David Couture. “They’re great for almost any face shape, easy to apply and can be your secret weapon for a thicker, more manageable bang.”
