Every now and then, a beauty breakthrough comes along that seems so out there that it’s beyond intriguing. And that’s just the case with Esthechoc, a new dark chocolate that’s gaining traction in England that we just had to learn more about. Cosmeceuticals and beauty foods are nothing new, but this one claims to offer benefits that actually seem believable.
Developed by a former Cambridge University researcher, this beauty food is said to possess more antioxidant benefits than typical dark chocolate and even more than a piece of salmon. In clinical trials, subjects who ate one piece of Esthechoc, which is 70-percent dark chocolate, noticed improved blood supply, less skin inflammation and healthier-looking skin.
At just 38 calories per piece, the chocolate is also believed to improve skin’s physiology, which slows down the effects of aging. A decade in the making, it’s infused with the potent antioxidant astaxanthin and only one piece is to be eaten daily.
While we don’t know just yet if a piece of chocolate can really do all that it claims to, we’re not opposed to enjoying chocolate on a daily basis, especially if it does something other than just going to our hips.
