Few grocery stores have garnered as big of a cult following and simultaneously sparked as much divisive discourse as the LA staple chain Erewhon. Known for its healthy but expensive grocery and wellness options as well as its seemingly endless supply of celebrity smoothie collabs, Erewhon certainly isn’t your run-of-the-mill supermarket. While the store’s hot food bar and pantry staples are what most gravitate to its aisles for, its wellness and self-care section is equally as expansive. If you’ve ever wandered into an Erewhon and felt overwhelmed by the beauty section, celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg just revealed what’s worth the spend and what’s not.

The Best Budget-Friendly and Splurge-Worthy Beauty Products at Erewhon

From her work with stars like Chelsea Handler and Catherine O’Hara to creating her own makeup line, Greenberg knows more than a thing or two about Hollywood beauty, so there’s no better person to take advice on how to shop the Erewhon beauty aisles from than her. In an Instagram reel yesterday, Greenberg started by acknowledging that while Erewhon is known for its high price tag items (of which she shouts out her favorites), there are budget-friendly, effective beauty products to snag in the self-care aisles, too.

Starting off with a splurge worthy product, Greenberg says that “if you’re going to spend your money, I’m talking $110 plus tax, get the True Botanicals Radiance Oil ($120)—it’s amazing I’ve been using it for years and there is definitely not a dupe.” For ones to skip, Greenberg candidly admits that many of the pimple patches in the store are affordable but don’t really work. When it comes to budget-friendly beauty buys, the makeup artist highlights Mad Hippie’s Vitamin C Serum ($34), Weleda’s Skin Food ($19)—which she says she’s “obsessed with”—all of Vacation’s SPFs and Rose Water by Heritage Store ($8.50).
