Let’s Just Get to the Point:
This at-home peel uses your favorite fall produce to effectively—yet gently—exfoliate in minutes, leaving your skin glowy and more radiant.
If You Want to Know More:
Pumpkin-infused treats aren’t reserved just for the grocery store. True to its name, the Epicuren Pumpkin Apple Spice Peel ($51) packs a pumpkin-y punch, using mild pumpkin enzymes to help dissolve dead skin cells.
You may not immediately think of the fall favorite as a skin-care ingredient, but you should; pumpkin delivers a laundry list of benefits for your complexion. Its enzymes go to town, dissolving dead cells that build up on the surface of your skin and can leave it looking dull, lackluster, and anything but glowy. But it doesn’t stop there: Pumpkin can also help normalize oil production and reduce the look of pores, making this product a top pick for oily skin types. Not to mention that it’s also packed with phytonutrients and antioxidants (which is why it’s so good to add to your diet, too!) to protect your skin from free-radical damage. Plus, this peel also contains malic acid—derived from apples—another choice exfoliant.
The first thing you notice about this peel is the smell—a warm, spiced, slightly sweet scent that’s just oh-so pleasant and fall-like. Also nice: The application couldn’t be easier. Simply apply a thin layer across your face, leave on for three to seven minutes, and rinse. (Unlike many other peels I’ve tried, there are no extra steps or neutralizing required.) The formula has a gel-like consistency that dries quickly, which means it won’t drip or run once it’s on your skin…so you can easily multitask while you wait to wash it off. Because my skin is sensitive with a capital S, I left it on for just four minutes. I didn’t feel any tingling, which speaks to how gentle this product is; I usually experience at least some kind of mild sensation with these types of exfoliating products. Post-rinsing, my skin looked—and felt—smooth and radiant, and not red or irritated at all. The directions recommend using it three to five times per week; I started with three and noticed an improvement each time. Move over PSLs, this is our new favorite fall treat.
