Dry Skin Salvation

With the recent changes in air travel policies and with most skin care products taking the form of liquid, it became all too clear to me that I needed to start looking for alternatives. That’s when I came across LUSH Baby Face cleanser and makeup remover.

Baby Face is a solid citrusy-scented bar, molded into the shape of a baby’s face. It’s meant to be used dry, meaning that you don’t have to wet your face or the cleanser. You aren’t missing any foaming or lathering action because it doesn’t do either, wet or dry.

If the shape of Baby Face freaks you out a little, well, it did the same for me too. There seems to be a purpose for it, though. The nuances of the baby’s cheeks and nose do a great job of navigating around your own nose and chin. It glides over the skin and doesn’t feel forced.

Does it clean my face? Yes. The bonus is that because I have dry skin, the oils they put into the product moisturize my face, something that most cleansers fail to do. Does it remove makeup? Absolutely, in fact, my waterproof mascara melted with this stuff.

The biggest drawback with LUSH’s Baby Face is that you need to use a warm cloth to remove it from your face. Also, when storing it, you need to make sure that it doesn’t come into contact with water for any significant period of time – otherwise, the product melts very quickly.
