The world of beauty is forever changing, and the timespan of 10 years can go by—and bring about incredible innovation—very quickly. We asked the industry’s most forward-thinkers: Where do you predict we’ll be in the year 2025?

Next-Generation Fillers
“Autologous fillers, those that use your own stem cells, minus any other materials, will be the norm.” –Chevy Chase, MD, facial plastic surgeon Shervin Naderi, MD

Breast Implants 2.0
“We will continue to see more options in breast implants approved by the FDA in the coming years. Given the safety record of silicone implants and the more natural look and feel of the results, more women will opt for breast enhancement with silicone implants.” –Houston plastic surgeon C. Bob Basu, MD

A New Surgery Sector
“The next 10 years will bring numerous advances in the device sector with better tissue-tightening and fat-removal devices. I think some of the surgical procedures we perform now, such as liposuction on patients with small amounts of fat and facelifts on younger patients, may become obsolete within the decade.” –Boca Raton, FL, plastic surgeon Jason N. Pozner, MD

No More Injections
“I believe the growth of new and exciting delivery systems that avoid the need for actual injections will begin to appear in greater quantities and lead to a major growth in the number of cosmetic patients, as the idea of injections is a barrier for some people.” –Chicago plastic surgeon Julius W. Few, MD

Replacement Parts Take Rise
“Stem cells are the big unknown, but they do show a lot of promise. My prediction: They could help generate replacement parts in the next 10 years, which could change things for the plastic surgery, and the medical, field dramatically.” –La Jolla, CA, plastic surgeon Robert Singer, MD

Virtual Massage
“We currently view spa treatments as something you need to do in person. I think we will see the spa world using a higher level of technology to reach their clients. You can’t give a virtual massage, but you might be able to help diagnose stress and coach people through different relaxation techniques through your phone in a real way that delivers real results.” –Jim Nicolai, health coach and author of Integrative Wellness Rules
