We’re very sad to report that Dr. Frank Ryan, a well-respected Los Angeles board-certified plastic surgeon with movie-star good looks, best known for performing a highly publicized multiple-procedure makeover on Heidi Montag, has been killed in a car crash.

TMZ reports that Dr. Ryan, who was 50, drove over the side of California’s Pacific Coast Highway Monday afternoon. His Jeep landed in the rocks below, and he sustained fatal head injuries. Jill, his beloved border collie, survived the tragic accident, which occurred mere minutes after his last Twitter post.

Most recognized as a celebrity plastic surgeon whose clients include Janice Dickinson, Gene Simmons, Vince Neil and Adrianne Curry, Dr. Ryan was truly an artist and had in innate knack of enhancing facial femininity by practicing a “beauty formula” that incorporated proper proportions and symmetry, resulting in beautifully perfect faces. A supporter of dramatic makeovers, Dr. Ryan often relied upon small surgical tweaks-like slightly turning up the nose and lifting just the corner of the lips-to produce an overall different look.

An avid philanthropist, he founded the Dr. Frank Ryan Foundation in 1994 in order to help underprivileged children teens accomplish their life goals. A source that NewBeauty often turned to, our editors had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Ryan for the Summer-Fall edition. His professional contributions to the plastic surgery arena and his personal kindness and generosity to his friends, family and clients will not be forgotten.
