According to a European survey presented at the World Congress of Dermatology, the majority of European women are more interested in cosmetic procedures to improve their stomachs than their faces. Focusing on minimally invasive procedures, The Face Value Beauty Survey polled 2,939 women from Russia, Italy, Spain, France and the United Kingdom.
The survey found that only one fourth of women equated beauty with youth. Instead, they attributed confidence, healthy skin, nice hair, (among other things like a charming personality) to a woman’s beauty.
More than half the women indicated that they would like to change their abdomen. Forty-four percent of the women reported that they would like to target their overall weight, 41 percent their breasts, 38 percent their face and 38 percent their buttocks. As far as procedures the women had already undergone, the most popular was laser hair removal at 18 percent. Chemical peels, cellulite treatments and facial injections came in next, with each having been tried by about 13 percent of the respondents.
Do you share the same views as our female friends in Europe? Do you think only one in four American women believe that beauty is equated with youth?
