Actress-turned-reality-star Denise Richards got something off her chest last week: she has had three breast augmentation surgeries in the last 20 years.
The 38-year-old beauty told Howard Stern listeners that she rushed into getting implants at 19 when she was new to Hollywood and saw her roommate’s surgical results. “I was flat as a board, and I thought ‘Whoa, you can just buy them’ and stupidly had them done!” Even though she felt her first implants were too big, the second set was even bigger.
It wasn’t until she completed a stint as a Bond girl, several years before becoming a mother, that Richards underwent her third and final augmentation with smaller implants that she feels fit her frame.
Most women who elect breast augmentation won’t go through numerous size switches like Richards has. However, even if you are completely satisfied with your implants, they shouldn’t be considered a lifetime device. You will probably have to have them replaced at some point down the line.
To increase the likelihood that you’ll be satisfied with your results, heed Richards’ experienced words: “I was young and should have researched better.”
