Demi Lovato is not only one of the biggest names in music today, but also one of the biggest voices in the body positivity movement. After her public battle with an eating disorder, the singer admits to a daily struggle with self-confidence, but seems to be sticking to her New Year’s resolution that 2018 would be the year she lets go of “perfectionism” and embraces “freedom from self-criticism.”

So when we saw the former Disney star professing some big-time self-love on social media this weekend, we couldn’t help but take notice. Lovato posted photos on her Instagram stories baring her stretch marks, “extra fat” and “no thigh gap,” saying, “Yet I still love myself.”
She also posted a boomerang showing her cellulite, and wrote: “The boomerang smoothed out legs. The point is, I have cellulite just like the other 93% of women do. What you see on Instagram isn’t always what it seems to be. Let’s embrace our real selves. #iloveme”
Although it’s probably difficult for Lovato to open up like this to her fans (and the world), she continues to inspire women everywhere with her words and courage, and we’re behind the #iloveme mission 100 percent.
