Correcting A Botched Cosmetic Surgery

Although all surgery involves risk, going to an unqualified doctor for your chosen cosmetic procedure increases the possibility of botched results. Finding yourself in this position can be emotionally devastating, but it’s not hopeless.

Many board-certified surgeons have been visited by patients who had been disfigured by previous surgeries. For example, a patient who has had rhinoplasty by an unqualified doctor may be very dismayed if her results appear too dramatic or caved in. In this case, corrective surgery may involve harvesting cartilage from the patient’s ear to rebuild the bridge of the nose.

If a previous surgery has left you unhappy, you can seek out a second surgery with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Although the corrective surgery may be more complicated than the first, most patients who have been in a similar situation believe feeling better about yourself is worth it.
