Let’s Just Get to the Point:
The new Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield SPF 50 ($39) is a mineral sunscreen that not only protects against UVA and UVB radiation, but also shields skin from harmful environmental aggressors.

Key Ingredients:
EnviroScreen Technology is the exclusive blend of ingredients that make this product so powerful, including patented zinc oxide to protect against sun damage, lipochroman to fight against pollution, and iron oxides to shield the skin from damage and photoaging caused by blue (HEV) light.

If You Want to Know More:
I’ll admit it: I’m a beauty editor and writer (and know everything there is to know about skin cancer), yet I’ve always been terrible about consistent sun protection. Since learning more about all the damage that UVA and UVB rays can have on skin, I’ve tried to be more diligent about applying sunscreen to my face everyday, but there consistently seems to be one problem with every formula I try: My makeup always looks extra-cakey in only a few hours of wear.

To my surprise, that wasn’t the case with the new Colorescience Sunforgettable Total Protection Face Shield. I was shocked by how long my makeup stayed put while wearing this formula underneath, so much so, that it made me actually want to apply sunscreen in the morning.

Not only did this face shield act as a perfect primer for my foundation, but I also loved how moisturizing the formula was. I often found myself reaching for this bottle (instead of my regular moisturizer) on days when I felt like my skin didn’t need as much moisturization, but still wanted to feel hydrated. I can thank the phytomoist technology, which is four times more hydrating than hyaluronic acid, for my now supple, dewy skin.

Most mineral sunscreens are difficult to blend in and oftentimes leave a white cast over the skin, but you won’t find that happening with the Colorescience Face Shield. The light pink formula blended in seamlessly upon application, and there wasn’t a trace of white left when I was through. While testing this product, I noticed that I hadn’t suffered from any new sunburns or developed any new sunspots, and best of all, I didn’t develop any new breakouts, which usually never happens when I wear sunscreen on my very acne-prone complexion.

More than just a sunscreen, this product has completely converted me into an SPF junkie, and I’m excited to have found a formula that can protect, hydrate and prime my skin all in one.
