When we think of pop icons who revolutionized the music industry, Christina Aguilera is one of the first to come to mind. Hand-in-hand with other notorious vocal talents like Mariah Carey, Aguilera’s four-octave range, signature look and extensive and catchy discography solidified her as one of the OG pop princesses of the 2000s. While Xtina has now passed the metaphorical pop star baton to singers like her good friend Sabrina Carpenter, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer is still busting out high notes and owning the stage more than ever. Last week, Aguilera made a surprise appearance at Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour where she rocked a glam look by iconic makeup artist Etienne Ortega, including this three-product lip combo.
Xtina’s Short n’ Sweet Lip Look
Carpenter and Aguilera have been in the same circle for some time now. Carpenter has been vocal about her love for the pop icon who she considers one of her idols. While the two have collaborated on projects before, Aguilera took matters into her own hands last week, surprising Carpenter and her fans at her LA show last week. Yes, that’s right, not even Carpenter knew her idol and mentor was going to stop by for a song. The “Espresso” singer and her fans rightfully lost their minds.
While singing her legendary single “Ain’t No Other Man,” Aguilera rocked her signature pop star glam look, with her bouncy blonde curls cascading down to her waist and her smokey eye and nude lip in tow. It’s no surprise that makeup artist to the stars Etienne Ortega was behind this surprise performance glam. The artist revealed that he used three products from his line, Ortega Beauty, to create Xtina’s performance lip look. Ortega started by lining Aguilera’s lips with his Soft Contour Lip Liner in Musa ($16), layered with his Agave Glow Color Stick in Nubes ($22) and topped off with the Ethereal Glow Balm in Rose Quartz ($28), which he used on her lips and cheeks for a monochromatic effect. All we have to say is ain’t no other artist sporting glam like Xtina.
