The 39-year-old mom of four, cookbook author and model recently shared a bathtub moment with her three youngest kids on Instagram, a post that quickly sparked its fair share of commentary. But in true Teigen fashion, she didn’t let the criticism slide, serving up a clapback in response.
In the post, she’s all smiles with her little ones in the tub—a moment that quickly sparked debate. “Why do people post stuff like this on social media???” one commenter questioned, while another took things further: “Why is she always in dirty bathwater?” Teigen didn’t hesitate to set the record straight, responding directly: “It’s a coconut milk bath for sensitive skin, but go off!” Her clapback has since racked up more than 9,000 likes (and counting), with plenty of followers chiming in to support her. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!” one person wrote, echoing the sentiment of many.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Teigen’s bathing rituals have stirred up drama. As the commenter alluded to, last year her husband, John Legend, posted a video of her soaking off body makeup in the tub using the Loved 01 Exfoliating Cleanser from his skin-care line. Without listening to the audio, many assumed the bathwater’s color was something else entirely.
“Currently getting roasted online for being dirty because no one listened the the audio where I say I’m soaking off body makeup (to shower after!),” she captioned a repost of the video on her own Instagram. “Full blown fights in John’s comments. My favorite is ‘baths are not for bathing.’ I love a good old fashioned roasting though, u guys are killing it (it being never touching grass ever).”
