Normal side bun = boring.
Classic French braid = been there, done that.
A French braided side bun that marries these two boring, been there, done that styles together into one ingeniously sexy updo = absolutely fabulous.
Here is how to do it from the man who created the style himself for the always fashion-forward Charlize Theron, Enzo Angileri.
Step 1: Make the braid
Angileri parted Charlize’s hair on the right side and made a braid at the nape of the neck near her right ear and started to French braid. “I made the first braid gradually larger and looser as it reached the opposite side and secured it with a pin,” he says.
Step 2: Double up
Next, Angileri took the remaining hair and created another thin braid just above the first one. The two braids were then directed toward the left ear. Once the braids were complete, he twisted them together in a round, low bun and pinned them both.
Step 3: Bring it all together
“I made sure to keep the shape generous and flowing and positioned the bun so it would look intriguing at every angle,” he says. To finish the look, use a light mist of hairspray to add luminosity.
