Let’s Just Get to the Point:
Coco Mademoiselle just got a makeover, and if you’ve veered from one of the most well-known scents of all time, it’s time to get reacquainted. Like the original, Coco Mademoiselle Intense ($110–$140) maintains a crisp tang thanks to orange and bergamot, balanced by a warm, cozy hint of patchouli, vanilla, jasmine and tonka bean. But what makes the new version different is its more intense dose of patchouli, giving off a much warmer, more seductive vibe that’s practically made for when the sun goes down.

If you want to know more:
Originally launched in 2001, Coco Mademoiselle has been revered as the Chanel No. 5 for the modern-day woman. It’s warm and it’s sensual, but it’s also crisp, clean and the definition of “me” for millions who swear by a spritz from the rectangular glass bottle every morning. Now, 17 years after its debut, the brand has launched an Intense version. Iconic in its own way, Chanel perfumer Olivier Polge (son of Jacques, the nose behind the original Mademoiselle) turned up the dial on the patchouli to give the original scent “a whole new dimension,” according to a statement.

Aside from a bolder, more vivid fragrance—you’ll also notice a stronger sense of Madagascan vanilla and tonka—the scent seems to lasts longer on the skin, which we’ll never turn down. Think of this as a big sister to your classic Mademoiselle. Though it’s a deeper, more mature take on the original—we’ll be wearing Mademoiselle at work and Intense to date night—the campaign, featuring none other than Kiera Knightley (the face of the fragrance for 10 years) is just as playful and innocent as we’d hope—and has us running out to buy a bottle—and a backup, just in case.
