Here’s the simple answer. We’re all born with a predetermined number of fat cells that swell or contract as we gain weight. When the fat is removed with liposuction and you gain weight, the fat cells you have will swell. You may not get as “fatty” in the areas treated by liposuction because there are fewer fat cells, but where you haven’t been treated, all the fat cells you have will swell.
Conversely, if you have fat injected or grafted to your face, buttocks, hands or anywhere else, you are adding fat cells. Gain weight, and you’ll notice disproportionate gain in the areas injected or grafted with fat.
