Buzzing About A Vibrating Mascara

I have to admit, with apologies to some of my favorite cosmetic brands, that I thought the handful of vibrating mascaras hitting the market this season were completely ridiculous. But then Estee Lauder TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara showed up on my desk and decidedly changed my mind.

Innocent-looking enough at first glance, the striped tube starts to buzz with the first little twist of the cap, before you even pull the brush out. While my coworkers giggled and imagined potentially embarrassing scenarios of explaining what it is not to airport security employees, I prepared to convert to oscillating eye makeup.

Even though it defies logic to put a shaking wand near your eye, it’s actually quite easy to use, with pretty darn gorgeous results. The vibrating is great for separating lashes and avoiding clumps, while the formula itself really is “All Effects”: lengthening, thickening, and even curling.

Perhaps TurboLash and its counterparts will be a short-lived beauty fad, but now that I’ve tried it, I hope not.
