Breast Reduction Reasoning

Not all girls want bigger breasts. For some women, natural breast tissue can be so abundant that large breasts results in back, neck and shoulder pain as well as limiting fashion choice and raising self-consciousness. While minimizing bras have gotten much more supportive, effective and prettier in the recent past, many women are still opting for breast-reduction surgery, not just for beauty, but also for health.

In New Hampshire, breast reduction is required by law to be eligible for insurance coverage. Elsewhere, insurers are often arbitrary or so strict with coverage that many women opt to pay for the procedure themselves. In the past, studies by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons have demonstrated high satisfaction among women who have had breast reduction, a fair trade-off for the visible scars that result.
