Just when it seems that every unusual beauty hack has already surfaced, social media serves up yet another weird way to up your makeup game. This time, beauty blogger Juliana Leme (@julianaleme) gave her 57.4K Instagram followers a tutorial for using a Coca-Cola bottle cap as a way to create the perfect smoky eye.
In the video, which already has more than 47K views, Leme places a bottle cap over her closed eye and brushes on eye shadow along the rounded edge with the intention of creating a more defined cut crease. Then, she removes the cap from her eye—revealing a perfectly shaded crease in the process—and taps on a different eye shadow color along her eyelid. The end result? A smoky eye without any darker pigment from the crease spilling onto the lid, keeping everything exactly where it’s supposed to be.
As Bustle points out, this technique ensures that both eyes will have an evenly cut crease because it allows you to have total control over color placement. Pro tip: Make sure to wash the bottle caps thoroughly before and after use.
